Materials Characterization Services of the University of Minho
The laboratory for Materials Characterization Services of the University of Minho (SEMAT/UM) is a unit that provides technical and scientific services in the field of Materials Science and Technology. It aims to achieve a better use of its institutional human and material resources, in the scope of this area of knowledge. SEMAT/UM provides services in materials science characterization for Universities, Laboratories and Research Centres, Private and Public Companies, among other organizations.
SEMAT/UM objectives are to:
Provide services in the field of materials science and technology;
Contribute to the development of scientific research and to the fulfilment of the Portuguese scientific policy in its field of work;
Support research and development programs and projects;
Cooperate with universities and other institutions in postgraduate and specialized educational activities;
Cooperate with industry in research and development activities;
The use of SEMAT/UM services implies the acceptance of the Service Regulations, as well as the specific rules for the use of each equipment. The minimum usage time for each reservation is 1 hour.
